Earlier this month on 10/03, MUGU lifeguards respo Earlier this month on 10/03, MUGU lifeguards responded to an unconscious man floating face down with possible spinal damage at the north end of Thornehill Broome. With perfect summertime conditions and a fog bank making it nearly impossible to see anything in the water, LG Brouwer took a foot patrol towards the north end to try to get a better view. Upon her patrol, she witnessed a group of good samaritans trying to bring in the unconscious man that was in the water past the visibility point from shore and immediately hit the water without hesitation. LGs Reyes, Regan, Matthies, and Fischer followed her radio traffic and responded from nearby beaches to help manage patient care. On 10/17 the patient (pictured wearing the neck brace and using the walker), the patient's family, and some of the good samaritans returned to thank LG Brouwer and the rest of the crew for their efforts. He is expected to make a full recovery because of the spinal precautions used and taught by state parks personnel! #itsagreatday #MUGU
